I'll stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to promote the upcoming boxing match.
Former twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making huge earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters participated in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly happening.
