Previous FBI Head James Comey Enters Not Guilty Plea to Accusations of Lying US Legislators
Previous FBI chief James Comey has denied the charges to providing misleading information to congressional representatives and hindering a legislative process.
The former director's attorney entered the response representing him in a federal court in the Virginia city of Alexandria on Wednesday morning.
Patrick Fitzgerald stated he would try to have the proceedings dismissed for multiple factors including that his the accused, a opponent of former President Trump, was being targeted.
James Comey was charged shortly after the former president pressured his attorney general to take action against him.

In court on Wednesday, his attorney the legal representative informed the judge they aimed to file several legal requests to dismiss the case before a legal hearing, stating the legal action was retaliatory and that a federal prosecutor was unlawfully designated to handle the case.
James Comey's proceedings was initially overseen by a Virginia prosecutor, who left his position under pressure from Trump after his investigation into an additional political adversary - New York Attorney General Letitia James - did not succeed to file indictments.

These allegations against the former director surfaced after Trump shared on online platforms insisting on his chief prosecutor, the attorney general, prosecute the former director and other people.
